When I was walked into Lightshade, a recreational and medical dispensary in Denver, I was looking for a good indica. When the budtender suggested Raspberry Kush concentrate, I had a gut feeling that I was in for a treat.
Raspberry Kush is a frosty plant that takes on a deep, beautiful violet color. It is covered in lovely little trichomes, ranging from lilac to silver. Once it is trimmed, you can expect to see those sweet, pinkish-purple hairs throughout every nug.
Taste & Smell
As you can imagine, raspberry takes on the strong, sweet aroma of berry. That aroma carries into the flavor, as well, but the flavor is a little more complex, featuring some earthy notes.
Raspberry Kush has natural anti-anxiety and antidepressant properties.
Being an indica, this strain has pain-relieving properties. As someone that suffers from chronic back pain, I must admit that I felt much better after using this strain. (It lasted for hours, as well!)
Many indicas do not cause the same sense of euphoria that sativas do, but this strain gave me the strong euphoria that most sativas cause.
Like most indica strains, Raspberry Kush will leave you feeling fairly tired. Plan ahead for this if you struggle staying awake on indica strains.
Unlike many strains of the indica variety, Raspberry Kush leaves the user with a wave of creative energy if they are the type that can stay awake on indicas. Get out your art supplies and let the creativity flow!
What It Treats
If you are looking for a nighttime antidepressant or a quick-fix for stress-related mental illness, this strain of marijuana may be for you. Raspberry Kush uplifts the user, creating a soft blanket of euphoria and curing the user of their mental anguish.
Like many indicas, this strain leads the user to feel a strong body buzz. This can help cure pain. It is especially good for nighttime pain relief.
Raspberry Kush will put you to sleep, even if you suffer from severe insomnia. Just use a little, lie down, and let it do its job. It will cure you of your insomnia in no time.
Nausea can be debilitating, but this strain can help! Being quite effective combating nausea, Raspberry Kush is the perfect choice for you if you suffer from an ongoing stomachache.
One of the most common complaints regarding this strain is the dry mouth that it oftentimes causes. Keep a glass of water nearby when you medicate and you will be just fine, as this is a common minor side effect.
Dry eye is the other most common side effect associated with this strain. If you experience this, few eye drops will make you feel good as new!
Though it is reported less often, this side effect is certainly worth mentioning. If you struggle with cannabis-associated paranoia, perhaps this strain is not best for you.
Would I Smoke it Again?
I would smoke Raspberry Kush again, as I had a very good experience with the strain. It gave me a nice, creative buzz, while also curing me of my chronic back pain. I believe that it is a decent indica and that it deserves a solid 4.5/5 rating.
